Plaster Paint Native Stone, Love this color!

As you know, all the rave right now is painted furniture!  My new favorite is Native Stone from the Plaster Paint Line.  It is such a vibrant color and looks good on everything!  This shows the difference a little paint can make to a piece of furniture.

Here you can see how the distressed areas really pop.  The natural wood looks great with this color.

Stop by the store today and find your favorite color!
Happy Painting!

Old Door Turned Hall Tree

Hello All....I'm very excited to show you my all time favorite project so far.  I picked up this old door at an auction.  I honestly don't remember how much I paid for it, but I know it wasn't much.  When I saw it, I thought of making it into a coat rack, then I saw this cute, cute, cute hall tree on a blog and thought, I could do that!!  So, I went to the garage, dug out the door, and away I went.

The first thing was to wash off all the dirt and cobwebs.  While washing the door I noticed the wood was split, however, nothing a little wood glue can't handle...so after gluing the door I removed all the hardware, and I was ready to go.
I went through my paint supply and decided on a fun blue that matched some colorful knobs I had found at World Market:)
Now came the easy part....painting.  Like I said I went with a light blue...I love shopping in the sale isle of Home Depot and I had this in my stash.
After I was done painting, I started building the bench to attach to the door.  Now, this was actually the most eventful part of the entire project.  Let's just say, I'm glad there wasn't a hidden camera anywhere to be found.  I honestly think a tape of me making this part would have landed me $10,000 on America's Funniest Home Video's...needless to say, I finished the bench and attached it to the door using these products:)
After attaching the bench to the door, I painted the bench the same color of blue, and then waxed and stained.
Anyway.....Here is the before and after!
Fun, Fun, Fun project:)

REloved Desk in Old White and Duck Egg Blue

IMG_2748IMG_2756IMG_2749
Hello All!
I started REloving this desk today that has been sitting in my garage for months collecting dust.  Because there isn’t much detail to it, I decided to add two colors. Old White and Duck Egg Blue.  While I was painting, many ideas came to mind as to what this could be used for.  My first thought was to make it into a baby changing table.  All the drawers could hold diapers, lotion, wipes and anything else you might need to change a baby with.  After adding a railing to the top along with something soft to change the baby on, one could have an adorable addition to their nursery.  Another idea I had was to cut a hole in the top, place a sink in it and Walla, you now have a bathroom vanity!  This is what I love about my job!!!  So many endless possibilities!  Stay tuned for the finished product!

REloving an antique folding table

I'm starting on this antique folding table today.  This is the neatest table I think I've ever seen.  I found it at an auction.  I've been researching the date made and from what I can tell, dates back to the early 1900's.  My plan is to keep the top the original color by re-staining, and paint the legs with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Florence.  Stay tuned for the new REloved table!

Finished...I wish you could see it in person...not the best picture.  I ended up finishing the top with a bronze metallic glaze.  I call it my "Country Turned Chic" breakfast nook table:)

REloved Magazine Holder for a birthday gift.

A friend of mine asked me to RElove this old magazine holder for her mother's birthday.  She told her mother it had been thrown away when her mom had asked where it was.  Her mother was heartbroken, as it has been in their family for over 50 years.  When she then gave it to her mother after I had REloved it, she said her mom and dad both cried.  That is why I love doing this.  It is painted and distressed with Duck Egg Blue Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan.

Do you have an old piece that you have thought about throwing away or wishing it were in better repair?

Changing the color of a painted shelf with wax.

This is a picture of two different shelves that are both painted in the same color, however, one is  finished with a clear wax, and the other with a dark wax.  I love how you can completely change the look by the color of wax you use.  Again, this is painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  The color is Cream.  The shelf on the left is with clear wax and the one on the right is dark wax.  After I finished painting them, I asked two of my daughters which one they liked the best.

Antique Table with 4 Chairs

I'm REloving this antique table and chairs to help a dear friend of mine that will be spending the next year or more in Ghana Africa to help girls that have been rescued from slave trade.  The organization is called Eight Oaks.  I'm not sure of the Era of the table, but it does have wooden wheels and is in wonderful condition.   The details on the pedestal of the table are fabulous!!!  If you are interested, please message me, and I can give you more details.  I will not be starting on this until tomorrow, so if you message me, you can let me know what color you would like.  Thanks so much for all your support.  Stay tuned for more REloved furniture that needs a loving home:)

Antique dresser with mirror painted with Duck Egg Blue chalk paint

OK...This one is my favorite, so far.  Found this beauty on Craigs List and instantly fell in love with it.  I have been wanting to use Annie Salon's Duck Egg Blue chalk paint because I've heard so many positive things about it.  I decided to use it on this dresser.  This one will be hard for me to let go of, but let me know if you are interested:)  My house is beginning to look like an antique store.

A friend of mine told me about an auction last weekend.  I've never been to an auction, but when she told me there was a lot of antique furniture, I was on my way.  Now, let me tell you, my husband and son were on a fishing trip, and the only car I was left with was my son's jeep which, by the way, had no doors.  However, I didn't let that stop me.  When I got there I instantly thought "my husband is going to kill me."  I got my bid number and away I went.  Have you ever been to an auction?  Oh my goodness, I was in heaven.  Needless to say, by the end of the day the auctioneer had my bid number memorized.  My new lucky number is 300:)  While I was bidding away, I suddenly became aware of the vehicle I had with me, and became frantic.....Lucky for me, I have some EXTREMELY good friends that live about 5 miles away and yes.....they have a trailer but more importantly a barn in which to store all my lucky "300 " new items. I have one month to finish all my new treasures.  Stay tuned for lots of REloved All Things Shabby furniture.

Old Wood Medicine Cabinet

I asked on my facebook page what color I should paint this old wood medicine cabinet and had two different responses of red and old white.  So, I did the logical thing and painted it both:)  Quite lovely I'd say.
